Shoolin is located inside Rajaji. This is an Indian national park and tiger reserve that encompasses the Shivaliks, near the foothills of the Himalayas. It is spread over 820 km² and includes three districts of Uttarakhand: Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal.

Rajaji is close to the cities, yet offers a wild serenity that is exhilarating.
With numerous glistening streams crisscrossing the entire Rajaji landscape, the route to Shoolin is 10km of picturesque delight!

The park offers multiple safari zones, Chilla zone being the zone closest to Shoolin. Safaris from Chilla gate of the park are carried out twice daily in open jeeps. Both morning and afternoon slots have their own charm. Jeeps are easily available & drivers make good guides – stopping happily for you to click pictures! Well organised by govt, it’s value for money!

Drive from Shoolin to the safari gate is 14km. The final permit/ticketing is done at the gate.

Wild lifers Delight
Rajaji National Park is popular tourist destination. It’s specially attractive for wildlife enthusiasts.

The park is home to diverse flora and fauna, including elephants, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, deer species like sambar and spotted deer, langurs, and over 300 varieties of bird species including the Great Hornbill, Himalayan Pied Kingfisher, Great Slaty Woodpecker, and several species of eagles, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts.
